Over a 20 year period I made annual trips to the Maya areas of Central America, including Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize. Working as a documentary photographer, I photographed the ruins of over 30 archeological sites and ancient ceremonial centers.  Emergence/Return evolved out of this work when I began to blend photographs of the contemporary Maya with imagery carved in stone by their ancestors. The project has since expanded into other media, including video, and photo-sculpture. A signed, limited edition book is now available. Contact: jon@jmoorephoto.net
