About this project...

While driving through rural North Carolina over the past few years, I began to make photos of some of the used mobile home sales lots that dot the landscape... When making the pictures, I saw these decaying trailers and brand new modular homes (some still in pieces) as a metaphor for the American dream... a small piece of heaven on earth,.. a ‘Heavenly Home’.

Many of the homes were packaged, in blue tarps, reminiscent of Christo sculptures.

While piecing the images into montages, the process of creating something new using photographic ‘modules’ became a strange echo

of the same process by which thees dwellings had been designed and constructed.
